So for the moment I have nowhere to paint, unfinished armies that I can’t play, and a sore back from an unsuitable chair. Times, indeed, need to change:

1. Create an Art Studio. There is a fairly unused room in the house that’s basically a rubbish store, I’m tasking myself with clearing it out and putting in a table, comftable work chair, and perhaps a livingroom chair (Honestly, what are they called? Do they not have a special name for them? There are loveseats, dining chairs, sofa’s, sofa beds.. but.. I suppose they’re simply ‘chairs’) for ultra-comftable painting while suffering from the ol’ back. (I’m 20 years old with a sore back, I really should use the NHS sometime…)

2. Display case.  I really need one of these. I find I’m encouraged to paint by two things. Firstly, by new things in pretty boxes, or new things half-done scattered on the table, and secondly having my whole collection in my face.

3. Finish 750 points of Orks. Maybe I can actually have a game, eh?

4. Finish 1000 points of Orks. For those games that last 250 points longer.

5. Apocalypse & Rule Learning. Our local GW store has an Apoc game every week that you can join, so this is perhaps a great oppitunity to meet some new like-minded friends. It’s only buying a new rulebook, no?

6. Getting things finished. I really want a small Tau army, and a small Chaos one… oh, and -I-! Perhaps a battleforce worth of each, but I still have to even start my IG, and my Space Marines are in a huge mess, and my Orks only partly finished. So I’ll only be adding models to my current armies. I may offload some of my Space Marine stuff, as I’d only like to play small games or joint-games with them, as such a time until the majority of the fanbase stops using them (I don’t have a problem, I’d just like to be a little more adventurous). I also want them to be a little unique, so I may go with a assault troop/psychic force which sounds alot of fun to play.  (Mass assault troops,  a terminator core w/ terminator librarian? Awesome.)

7. Play some games.

That and the models are just too damn pretty. I’ll admit that was a factor, OK?

And I’m sticking to that plan, but, something did occur to me…

I’d really love to do a Chaos themed army, and, considering eveerybody (Well, most people) hate the Chaos Space Marine codex, I thought I’d wait to do CSM’s until the next codex crops up. But… I do love storytelling in games, and it hit me… what would be better than buying a box of guard, splitting the sprue 50/50 and have loyalists and traitors!? Not only would this curb my Chaos instincts, but it’s extremely fun to know they’re both from the same plastic!!

Yes, yes.. I know, they’re toy soldiers… but, a man is entitled to his fun, right?

So, I’m thinking of having Vostroyans and a made-up regiment using Cadian models for Imperial Guard, and I’ll have traitor guard on the other side of the basket.

But.. what Chaos God shall they worship? And.. what colour scheme do I want for my loyalists?

For my Orks, I was unsure of what klan to go with, as I generally prefer to go for fluffy armies rather than my own scheme. As I was browsing the ‘tubes for ideas, a certain fellow (Whose name I do not remember, my apologies) wanted to see a true ‘mixed’ warband. All the klans, mixed together, united under one great leader as they steamroll across the solar system. “Hm” I thought, quite literally. That’s fluffy and fairly original, why not?

For the most part, my projects are on hold, all except the Orks. I’m rather desperately attempting to finish them before January (Or atleast, January the 1st) I love Orks. They’re so delightfully witty and charming in their brutish and child-like way.

But for the love of God I want to stop painting them.

Orks demand lots of attention when employing the brush, especially when you’re fairly new and are attempting near-perfection. It’s simply very difficult to do as a novice. Yes, you can paint them fairly quickly, but, in reality they are tough to do right.

Atleast they’re not Eldar.

Holy crap. I never want to paint those again.

Now, onto a fresh blog entry to explain my plans for my guard. (Or rather, guard and traitor guard, hell yeah! I’m all about the rarity, man. Hopefully this blog will turn into bloody diamonds)

However, at the moment it feels like I’m bloody well talking to myself, and any readers are overhearer’s of your benign self-conversation, waiting for the best moment to call for a straight jacket and damn well send you to hell for all etern-

Oh I didn’t see you there! Hello all. Yes, this is a blog (Despite the prevalence of such things, my browser widget continually complains that ‘blog’ is not a word, and thus I promptly tell it to ‘be cool and go with the times, man’ and also, wondering why the same damn spell checker asks you to spell a lowercase internet as INTERNET -in caps-. Sense is being made)

So, what am I doing here? Well I’m an enthusiast of Warhammer (Goddammit it’s a bloody word!) 40k, and, considering I have quite an oddly paced lifestyle, I tend to lose motivation awfully quickly. So,  I thought a blog might indeed help to expand my mind and keep me paced. Not to mention improve my… sometimes lacking literary skills. Here I’ll be talking about.. what.. everybody else natters about, I suppose.

5. Maybe a few other odds and ends, but it’ll mostly be a 40k blog.

Some info about me? Well, I’m nearing 20 now and I have been a wargamer for a couple of years. I’ve never played a game outside a few ‘practice’ games with a friend of mine, which were not exactly long nor strict on the rules. I’d like to get into gaming, but so far it alludes me for one reason or another. I’m from England (If you can’t already tell by my macabre wit and devilish use of language) and I’m a fairly OK painter. I adore the 40k backstory, the game itself, literature, surrealist art, Gothic architecture, and my girlfriend, very very much <3 (See? See? I damn well told you)
